Via Ferrata Lehnbachwasserfall – 10 minutes from our house, by foot
160 m in altitude gain have to be conquered along the Lehner waterfall. Many rungs and steps facilitate the ascent. In the middle of the Via Ferrata you enjoy a fantastic view of the waterfall and the valley. A 30°-overhang is the highlight of this route. If you dare not make this final part you can sidestep it without difficulty to get to the exit at 1,450 m.
Winkelberg Lake Geological Trail – 5 minutes from our house, by car
Starting from Au this trail follows the traces of the Köfels rockslide. Along the trail are informative panels, describing the geological history of this area. The path leads past gigantic rocks to the idyllic Winklberg lake. There you can put your legs into the refreshing water of the moor pond. Interesting for parents and children: on a small feeder brook float several small waterworks that have been lovingly constructed.

Ötztaler Funpark in Huben – 10 minutes from our house, by car
The fun park with its many playing possibilities for children is a perfect destination for families.
Skating park, trampoline, gigant swing, tube slides, climbing towers and numerous other facilities are perfect for active holidays in the summer time. Next to the fun park is the “Water and Stones” geological playground. There your children can build dams and live out their creative fantasies with mud, water, sand and stones. The café with its homey terrace is also a popular destination. While children romp about, parents can relax and enjoy coffee, ice-cream and cakes.
Ski area Sölden – 20 minutes with the car or use the free ski bus (ski bus stop only 200 meters from our house)

Total length 110km (Hochgurgl ski area: approx. 54 km, Obergurgl ski area: approx. 56 km):
- 35 km easy ski runs (blue)
- 55 km intermediate ski runs (red)
- 20 km difficult ski runs (black)
Beginners and novice skiers are invited to ski at Gaisberg lift, Mahdstuhl lift or the practicing slope featuring a beginner’s lift. More advanced skiers find a truly unique sports paradise in the Festkogl ski area in Obergurgl and along the Schermerspitze ski trail – which are both of intermediate difficulty. Real experts can conquer the steep Hohe Mut ski run in Obergurgl and the challenging mogul piste down from Top-Wurmkogl II in Hochgurgl.
Alpengasthof am Feuerstein – Legend Trail / walking path and winter toboggan run
The Legend Trail – About three km (1 hour) runs this journey which children and adults delighted.
On the sports field in Huben (5 minutes from our house, with the car), begins the 1-hour walk. The natural walking way is family-friendly. Along the way you find display boards which are on large stones mounted. The display boards tell 14 different legends from the Ötztal.
The toboggan run – In winter, the toboggan run is lit! Toboggan rental on the cottage possible. Toboggan taxi against reservation! Hut evening at the lodge with Foxmusik and pop music with DJs!
